New Product Development Engineering Intern

Work Location: 1150 South 48th Street in Grand Forks, ND
Reporting Manager: R&D Manager
Work Hours: Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm, Friday 7am-12pm

Position Summary:

The New Product Development Engineering Intern will be part of a team that completes all design, development, and testing of new products and product improvements.  This position will contribute to the New Product Development Team by assisting with engineering, drafting, prototype testing, and miscellaneous tasks to help accelerate the launch of new products and product improvements.  Potential to earn academic credit.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Participate in conceptual through final design of new products
  • Design and implement product improvements into existing product lines
  • Extensive use of SolidWorks 3D modeling software to develop detailed models and create drawings for fabrication
  • Conduct testing of prototypes and write reports documenting results
  • Perform structural calculations of components and assemblies
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Junior level in a Mechanical/Structural Engineering Degree Program
  • 3D CAD experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with hands and power tools
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently
  • Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week
